Let's add a step....

What's the big deal about adding a step?

Well if you do it wrong, it will sink into oblivion and become one with the earth. That's not what we want. Setting a limestone step, flagstones, or any kind of rock is only as good as the base. Wow, isn't that a lesson for life?

The base of the step is critical for creating a solid foundation to prevent sinking and allowing for proper drainage. You can see from this picture that we use geogrid once we have dug down beneath the top soil and then add several inches of clear drainage stone. That gets tamped down, leveled and then the heave of lifting that stone to its rightful place.

In the end, its a things of beauty, its a thing of purpose and it ain't goin nowhere!
